Pepperstone Copy Trading: How CopyTrading and cTrader Copy Work

Rated 4.5/5 overall

Yes. Pepperstone offers copy trading in two ways: CopyTrading by Pepperstone, which lets MT4 and MT5 accounts copy more than 9,000 signal providers, and cTrader Copy, which runs within the cTrader platform. MetaTrader Signals and Signal Start are also available for signal subscriptions.

Copy trading lets you automatically mirror another trader’s positions in your account. Their profits and losses become yours, so choosing whom to copy matters more than the tool you use.

Copy trading is just one part of choosing a broker. Our full Pepperstone review covers the rest.

Pepperstone copy trading options

Pepperstone offers two main copy trading services and two signal services for MetaTrader users. The right one depends on your trading platform.

Whichever service you use, copied trades are placed in your Pepperstone account and are subject to the same regulated entity and protections as your other trades.

CopyTrading by Pepperstone

CopyTrading by Pepperstone lets you browse thousands of signal providers and copy their trades to a linked MT4 or MT5 account. You choose how much of your balance to allocate to each provider.

You need a funded MT4 or MT5 account to use it, and the account must be enabled for copy trading. Copied trades incur the account’s normal spreads and commissions.

Pepperstone cTrader Copy

cTrader Copy is the copy trading service built into Pepperstone cTrader. You can copy other traders’ strategies or share your own for others to follow, all without leaving the platform.

cTrader Copy is restricted in demo mode, so it cannot be fully tested before going live. Razor accounts on cTrader carry Pepperstone’s lowest commission, at $6 per round turn, keeping copying costs low for active strategies.

How to start copy trading on Pepperstone

To start copy trading on Pepperstone using CopyTrading, follow these four steps.

  1. Open and fund an account: create a Pepperstone MT4 or MT5 live account and deposit funds.
  2. Enable copy trading: turn it on for that account.
  3. Choose a signal provider: browse the available providers and select who to follow.
  4. Set your allocation: decide how much of your balance to commit, then start copying.

cTrader users can skip these steps and use cTrader Copy directly within the platform.

Risks of copy trading

Copy trading does not eliminate trading risk. When you copy a provider, you replicate their losing trades in your account just as you copy their winning ones, and past results do not guarantee future returns.

Allocating only part of your balance to each provider and spreading it across multiple providers limits the damage if a single strategy goes wrong. Retail negative balance protection prevents your account from falling below zero.

Bottom Line

Pepperstone offers a good choice of copy trading tools, with CopyTrading for MetaTrader users and cTrader Copy built into cTrader. In our assessment, the service suits traders who want to follow others without paying for a separate platform. The real risk lies in the providers you choose, not the tools themselves.
