Yes. Pepperstone offers a free VPS (virtual private server) that keeps your automated strategies running 24/7 without requiring your own computer. To qualify, you must trade at least $1,000,000 in notional volume over 60 days, roughly 10 standard forex lots. Under the Bahamas entity, you must also be a Pepperstone Pro client.

There are three free plans, Core, Plus, and Pro, and higher trading volumes unlock more powerful servers. Your VPS renews each month as long as you meet the volume requirement.

A VPS is just one part of choosing a broker. Our full Pepperstone review covers the rest.

Pepperstone's platforms and execution rank #7 of 49 - the infrastructure an always-on strategy runs against.

Pepperstone free VPS plans

Pepperstone offers three free VPS plans. Your plan depends on how much you traded over the past 60 days, measured by notional volume, the total value of the positions you opened.

The volume requirement applies every month, not just once. To keep your plan, you must trade at least the same volume in each rolling 60-day period.

Who qualifies for a Pepperstone VPS?

To qualify for a free Pepperstone VPS, you need a live trading account and at least $1,000,000 in notional volume over 60 days. Under the Bahamas entity, which serves most countries, you must also be an active Pepperstone Pro client. UK clients must have an active account and meet the same volume requirement.

VPS hosting is available to all clients, but Pepperstone only pays for it when you meet the criteria. If your volume falls below the minimum, you can lose access to the sponsored VPS.

How to get a Pepperstone VPS

To request a free Pepperstone VPS, follow these three steps.

  1. Open a live account and trade: reach at least $1,000,000 in notional volume within 60 days.
  2. Submit the request form: fill out the VPS request form on Pepperstone’s site.
  3. Follow the email instructions: Pepperstone will send setup instructions once your request is approved.

Requests can take up to 48 hours to process, and processing may take longer on weekends.

What a Pepperstone VPS is used for

A VPS runs your trading platform on a remote server that stays online 24/7. It keeps MT4 and MT5 Expert Advisors and other automated strategies running even when your computer is off.

A VPS mainly matters to traders running automation. Manual traders who close their positions themselves gain little from one, and at 10 standard lots every 60 days, the free plan is out of reach for most occasional traders.

Bottom Line

Pepperstone’s free VPS is a useful add-on for active algorithmic traders, with three plans that scale with your volume. In our assessment, it suits traders who already trade at least 10 standard lots every 60 days. Clients under the Bahamas entity should note that Pro status is also required.
